‘The Night Manager’ Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers: Upcoming Season In The Works? The Show's Fate Depends On The 85-Year-Old Novelist?
The Night Manager season 2 air date has not been revealed yet. But words from showrunner, Simon Cornwell, lead star Tom Hiddleston, and novelist John le Carre are more than enough to give fans hope for the release of the upcoming season.
During a Royal Television Society event entitled The Night Manager: Anatomy Hit, producer Simon Cornwell said that the producers would love to have a season 2. He said that in a lot of ways they'd love to do another series because that's bound to be very exciting.
Cornwell is the son of John le Carre who happens to be the author of The Night Manager released back in 1993. This is where the TV series was based. He said that there's no book nor Le Carre story that's ever been extended outside the confines of the novel. Thus, it's going to be more interesting for the viewers to see the second season with the knowledge that it's not based on the book, as noted by Digital Spy.
No Go Unless Better Than Predecessor
Simon Cornwell clarified however that season 2 will not push through if it does not stand a chance. After all, what's the point of doing it if it's not better than its predecessor, right? Cornwell knows there's a possibility season 2 may not enjoy the positive reception it did for season 1. Yet, they are hoping for the best to come. Consequently, series' lead star Tom Hiddleston told EW that John le Carre will have to decide if another sequel will have its run. Hiddleston is well aware that fans are dying to watch The Night Manager season 2 but it's only the novelist who can give the green light for that. If Le Carre feels the creative team and showrunners can go on with their original story, a second installment is very much likely to be in the works. As of now, there is no official announcement yet about the release of The Night Manager season 2.
