According to a recent report Apple seriously doubts a price drop for Apple music. Though this information has not been delivered by Apple itself but those claiming this price drop have worked close with the service since it was launched.

There would be a downward drift in the price drop of Apple music from $9.99 to $7.99 and there are chances that family plans may drop from $14.99 to $12.99.

Overall it would be a price cut as steep as 20 percent. This will definitely allow Apple to compete with companies offering such services.

Till Christmas, the new prices will begin rolling out and the roll out may start with a holiday promotional discount. There shall be no change in the student rates which is $4.99 a month but the regular plan and the family plan might witness a price drop.

After these new prices, there shall be a match between Apple music and Amazon's new Music Unlimited service.

These prices are currently $7.99 per month for its Prime scribers. Those customers who own Amazon echo device are offered a $3.99 plan per month by Amazon streaming service.

A recent news report says that Apple was planning on ending the iTunes music downloads within two years.

Another News report from the same source had come forward claiming that the end of music downloads by Apple will happen in the future.

In fact, Apple is planning to debut a new version of iTunes at WWDC. This may help the company on various fronts.

This price drop will certainly help those who are on the fence to pull the plug and subscribe. But the company should assure it will not anger the artists and labels in the process of cutting prices. Such thoughts are appearing because of the initial drama surrounding Apple Music's three-month free trial.
