A few days ago supporters started a petition in Change.org saying, "Make 'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo'- Season 2" possible! It further stated that the show is having a massive impact on k-drama fans on a global scale. This despite its low and unjustified Korea ratings.

Furthermore, since the series is based on the Chinese version they really wanted to ask SBS Network to make a sequel to season 1, just like the original. And since it's a known fact that sequels are usually created without the involvement of all the actors in the previous work, they're asking to keep the actors' contracts valid for the upcoming series as well. This, according to petitioner Charlene Mae Perez. Right now, they are only 150 people short in reaching the 7,500 goal for the petition.

In the meantime, Lee Jun Ki and the rest of the casts including IU, Nam Joo Hyuk, Ji Soo, Hong Jong Hyu, Jin Ki Joo, Baekhyun expressed their gratitude to their fans worldwide for their continued support. They posted it on their official Facebook page. In the past, Lee Jun Ki has already thanked his fans, especially the Chinese fans in particular for making the show garner a whopping 2 billion views on a Chinese streaming website. Come October 26, Lee Jun Ki took to Instagram and posted a video of himself with a caption in English where he thanked fans for the record-breaking views as noted by MobilenApps.
