Samsung has got a blend of response this year with the success of Galaxy S7 and the holocaust of Galaxy Note 7. Due to the explosion of Note 7, Samsung has stopped production of those mobiles.

The company also announced to switch off the mobiles and send them to the store where they have purchased it in a fire proof packing. Therefore, Samsung lovers are eagerly awaiting the next Smartphone from this tech giant.

Apparently, Samsung may release the next variant in Galaxy series i.e. S8 in 2017. Rumors suggest that S8 will have powerful specifications like artificial intelligence assistant, optical fingerprint scanner, etc.

S8 is expected to have AI of Bixby. Bixby will be deployed as software for managing personal information, for hands-free use of phone using voice recognition, etc.

Samsung had acquired an AI startup called Viv Labs, a California-based firm. Viv had been in the news for its most popular virtual assistant 'SIRI' in iPhones a voice assistant feature.

Viv software is so flexible that it can fit with any third party services and apps. With Viv, Samsung is hoping to offer brand new services to its customers.

Features and Specs of Galaxy S8

Rumors are rife that S8 will be the first in smartphones to support 5G network connectivity. Now 5G services are unavailable in the world, but in coming years it will launch its services. So it will be an advantage for those who have S8.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to feature some design changes compared to the Galaxy S7, including the home button removal. Reports reveal that Samsung wants to dispose the home button and also including fingerprint scan feature inside the display.

Galaxy S8 is sure to use a 10nm chip, and it's not clear whether it will have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830, or Exynos 8895 chip (Samsung brand), or both depending on the region. 10nm technology chips are more efficient and consume less power. It employs an Octa processor and may have 3GHz clock speed with 60-70% increase in performance compared to its predecessors.

S8 comes with microSD card with support up to 256GB. Internal memory will be either 64GB or 128GB. RAM capacity of S8 is 6GB. It means execution speed of instructions is very high thus improving the performance.

Camera

The primary camera is of dual 12MP with autofocus phase detection. The secondary camera is of 8MP. Smile detection, 4K video, geo-tagging, panorama are some of the different features.

Battery

Expected battery capacity is 4200mAh with non-removable Li-Ion battery. As it employs 10nm processor, we can expect long lasting battery life. This time, more care is taken in case of the battery as Note 7 faced many issues because of battery explosion.

It runs on Android 7.0 operating system. S8 will be waterproof, dust proof and with IP68 certification. Besides fingerprint sensor, proximity, accelerometer, it does contain Iris scanner providing an advanced security mechanism. The price of the S8 variant is around 639 and is worth for the things it is offering.
