‘Battleship Island’ News: Song Joong Ki’s Sports Seoul Style Stills Revealed
South Korean actor Song Joong Ki, who became famous after the military drama TV series "Descendants of The Sun" is currently filming for his next movie "Battleship Island".
Recently, the actor surprised his crewmembers with stylish vests from TOPTEN, which is South Korea's most renowned fashion brands. Since Song Joong Ki is presently a name to be reckoned with, hence his donning of TOPTEN garments might be a good marketing strategy for the brand. This was precisely the reason he was chosen as the brand ambassador for TOPTEN, reported the South Korean news website Dmilbo.
Notably, "Battleship Island" is a war movie directed by Ryoo Seung Wan and starring actors like Song Joong Ki, So Ji - Sub and Hwang Jung - Min. This is Seung Wan's third anticipated masterpiece after "Veteran" and "The Berlin File", reported Inquisitr.
As for the storyline, the movie focuses on the escapade of the brave Korean fighters who escaped the Japanese coal mines. It speaks about the story of a Korean bandmaster, who travels to Japan to rescue his daughter and is exiled to "Battleship Island".
Additionally, it also speaks about Choi Chil - Sung who is a ferocious war hero and is exiled to "Battleship Island", along with Park Moo - Young, who is a young freedom fighter.
According to a report by Yonhap, Song Joong-ki seems to be enjoying his time with the crew of Battleship Island. The team was recently in Chuncehon City. Song Joong-ki said he had to lose a lot of weight for the movie because the role shows that the character is exhausted.
"I am walking a lot because I have to lose a lot of weight," he said.
The sets of the movie were replicated according to the island, and Song Joong Ki believes that the movie might be better than what has been promised.
Thus, After Descendants of the Sun, the actor's reputation, as well as his earnings, skyrocketed. In fact, several reports have stated that Song Joong-ki's earnings are higher than actors Lee Min-ho and Kim Soo-Hyun.
However, with the current ban on Hallyu stars in China, it remains to be seen if the South Korean-made movie "Battleship Island" will make the profits that are expected.
