Where To Watch Election Results On TV, Online And In Real Life?
US Presidential Election results are coming in. As the election night rolls on, here's a rundown of the best sources available on TV, online and in real life to stay informed and updated on the election results.
TV
Fox News, CNN and MSNBC have all-day election coverage until a winner is declared and beyond. NBC, ABC, and CBS have live coverage from their respective news team beginning at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. NBC has the veteran Tom Brokaw cover the election while ABC features commentary from election night by Charles Gibson and Diane Sawyer. Bob Schieffer, having the experience of covering 14 presidential elections, reports for CBS. Spanish-language flagship Univision has the coverage beginning at 7 p.m ET/ 4 p.m. Telemundo has the coverage starting at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
PBS and CSPAN has the coverage beginning at 8 p.m ET/ 5 p.m. PT and BET has a two-hour election special starting at 11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m PT.
MTV News also has the election covered starting at 3 p.m ET with hourly updates during its regular programming. It has online availability as well via live-streaming Youtube channel starting at 6:50 p.m ET as well as '10 to the Hour, Every Hour' political segment on Facebook Live.
Shows have been dedicated to covering the election results as well. Comedy Central has an hour long live special starting at 11 p.m ET in 'The Daily Show With Trevor Noah,' which also airs on MTV, VH1, Spike and TV Land. 'The View' has a 21/2 hour live special starting at 6 p.m ET and 9 p.m PT while Stephen Colbert presents election night special in Showtime at 8 p.m and 11 p.m starring guests, Jeff Goldblum, Katy Perry, Larry Wilmore, Patton Oswalt among others. It also streams on Facebook Live.
Online
The L.A Times has an updated live U.S election results page. The Ringer has live updates as well as plenty of back episodes of its political podcast Keeping it 1600 with Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett and Tommy Vietor. Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight, Buzzfeed and NPR has live coverage of the election results as well.
Real Life
The Theatre at the Ace Hotel downtown has a watch party starting at 4 to (roughly) 10 p.m with DJs and drinks. Pasadena's KPCC has a free election night party and Los Angeles LGBT Centre has a party dubbed 'Let's Make History Tonight' in Next Door Lounge on Highland Avenue. The Association has an election night party with themed cocktails with results presented in surround sound. The Abbey has a party hosted by Human Rights Campaign starting at 4 p.m. The Standard Hotel in West Hollywood and Downtown also has election night parties but only the latter has massage therapists and chakra healer offerings.
