Prince Harry has asked for privacy on behalf of his new girlfriend, Meghan Markle. The Prince has officially confirmed his relationship with Markle while condemning those who have abused and harassed the American actress, E! News reported.

Prince Harry addressed the issue in a Kensington Palace's statement released Tuesday morning in the hopes that those in the press and who have been driving the story of him and Meghan can pause and reflect before further damage is done. He also admitted that it is unusual of him to have issued such a statement but he hoped that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt the need to speak publicly on it. In the statement, Prince Harry revealed that he was worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.

The Prince strongly asserted in the statement that although commentators will say 'this is the price she has to pay and that 'this is all part of the game,' he strongly disagrees. "This is not a game- it is her life and his,' read the Palace's statement representing the Prince's beliefs.

The couple have been just few months into the relationship, it was revealed in the statement. Rumors started swirling about the romance between Prince Harry and the 'Suit' actress in late October.

Following the Kensington Palace Statement, there are reports surfacing saying that the strong stand taken by Prince Harry could be an indication that Meghan Markle could be the one for him. His statement reportedly sets Meghan apart from his previous love interests, Chelsey Davy and Cressida Bonas.

"The couple is 'serious' about each other,' a source told E! News, and "everybody is thrilled for Harry."
