After the huge success of 'Deadpool,' 20th Century Fox is already aiming to start the production of its sequel, 'Deadpool' 2 next year. The sequel is set to release on Jan 12, 2018.
Rumor has it that the filming of 'Deadpool 2' was supposed to begin in January 2017, but it has now been pushed to February, Christian Times reported. The reason for the postponement of the film is speculated to be due to the departure of Tim Miller, the director of 'Deadpool.'
Deadline reported that Miller left the team of the upcoming sequel of 'Deadpool 2' due to 'creative differences' with the developers. It is stated that Miller reportedly wanted to make a big budget sequel to 'Deadpool' but the rest of the team wanted to make a low-budget film.
Miller's departure from the sequel prompted the composer of 'Deadpool,' Junkie XL to quit the upcoming project as well. He said not having Miller in the team "doesn't feel right."
Reports suggest that director David Leitch ('John Wick') is the preferred director to helm 'Deadpool 2' but there has been no formal announcement regarding it yet. Another director who could possibly be roped in for the sequel is Drew Goddard, who is the screenwriter for 'The Martian' and director of 'The Cabin In The Woods.'
Latest buzz on 'Deadpool 2' reveals that Zac Efron is going to portray the role of Cable, the sidekick of Ryan Reynold's character in the film. It is said the winning physique and good looks of Efron could complement Reynold's sexual appeal, which is expected to draw more viewers in the sequel. Efron and Reynolds are yet to comment on these latest rumors.
Blake Lively, 'Gossip Girl' actress and Reynold's wife is reportedly going to play the new love interest in 'Deadpool 2.' However, the couple hasn't confirmed the news yet.
Other actors expected to appear in the sequel include Stana Katic, Mackenzie Davis and Kyle Chandler.
