A Drone Video Shows Off An Updated Aerial Look Of Apple's Spaceship Campus
Apple campus 2 is termed as the spaceship campus because of its unique ring-shaped design. It was in 2013 that construction of this campus began. It encompasses 2.8 million square-feet spanning over 176 acres
The completion date of construction is all set for late 2016, MacRumors reported. By all standards, Apple is a secretive company which can give the CIA and NASA a run for their money. It makes sense due to the level of technology this tech giant deals with.
Apple cannot do a whole lot regarding the drone flying high over its new campus 2. The campus is under construction in Cupertino.
According to Techsite, the drone videos posted by YouTube account for Saxton Videography with Mashable notes showing as if the structures are almost complete. Most panels and pillars seem to be in place.
An update was provided to the vast 172-acre campus 2 construction by Digital Trends in July this year. British architect Norman Foster has designed some features of this beyond state of the art campus which include 3,000 floor-to-ceiling glass panels, a 90,000 square-feet cafeteria, 120,000 square-feet underground auditorium and a 100,000 square-feet fitness center.
Technology is being discussed on a large scale because 2.8 million square feet space has been consumed by the structure. There is a feel of Stark industries in the entire effort.
It is also believed that this structure is amongst the most environmentally sustainable projects on such a scale around the world. The main idea of the project is to run entirely on renewable energy. It would get power from rooftop photovoltaic arrays and on-site fuel cells. In plain language, these would be solar panels.
As there would be a use of radiant cooling and natural ventilation, there would be no need of air conditioning for at least seventy percent of the year in this spaceship-like building. Campus 2 is considered as Apple's $5 billion facility, which hints the company's vision for the future.
