HTC 10 owners from the U.S. receive another thanksgiving treat as the smartphone's system update to Android Nougat finally rolls-out. HTC has announced that the roll-out began on Friday.

The company claims that Nougat update would be like the Marshmallow update where HTC did not add any extra apps. The Nougat update will also include a cat Easter egg, new notification interface, improved quick setting and the Android 7 staple multi-window function.

HTC 10 Receives The Android 7.0 Nougat Update

According to Android Police, the update rolling out is Nougat 7.0 instead of Nougat 7.1 as the later has not been released formally. In fact, Nougat 7.1 is available only for Pixels and in beta form for other nexus devices.

The Taiwanese company also revealed that the carrier edition HTC 10 smartphones would receive the Nougat update next year. HTC's other smartphone offerings like the One M9 and the One A9 are still running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, it is believed that once HTC rolls out the nougat update for HTC 10 units other phones like the One M9 and One A9 might also receive their own nougat builds.

HTC's Newest Flagship Smartphone's Specsheet

The newest flagship from HTC was released in May this year. This device rocks a 5.2-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a Quad-HD resolution of 1440 x 2560. As reported on Tech Times, this device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 4 GB of RAM and internal storage of 32GB or 64GB. It has two cameras, the 12-megapixel shooter sits at the back while a five-megapixel shooter sits at the front.

The HTC 10 was recently sold at a discount during the Black Friday sale on the company's own website. Lucky customers were able to purchase the device for $200 less. With this recent developments, it seems that HTC has delivered what the company promised in August.
