This week, the world's considered oldest person just celebrated her 117^th birthday. Emma Morano was born on either November 27 or 29, 1899 in Civiasco, Italy. She is the last person alive who was born in the 1800s, up until the last year she lived all by herself in an apartment located in Italy. Now she already has a full-time care giver.

Emma Morano is the oldest of eight siblings. She stated that she lived long since she eats many eggs when she was 20 years old and diagnosed with anemia. She also informed reporters that she loves to drink a glass of homemade brandy daily, and added that she credits her long life to the fact that's she lives alone. Morano's life not only spanned three centuries, she also survived an abusive marriage that started with blackmail.

Emma Morano married at 26 separated with her husband in 1938, one year after her baby boy died. She was in love with a boy who was killed during the world war one. When he passed away, she had no interest marrying again. Lots of sleep was also a factor for the 117-year-old woman. Every night she goes to bed every 7 pm and wakes up the next day before 6 a.m. reported by Fox.

According to BBC, Emma Morano admits that he age is partly down to genetics since her mother reached 91. Her several sisters also reached their centenary and another reason partly is the unusual diet of three eggs. Two raw eggs and a few biscuits each day for more than 90 years. Her doctor for 27 years Carlo Bava, told AFP agency that it does defy all accepted advice on healthy living, the doctor added that Emma ate very few vegetables and fruits.

Morano's story inspired a special musical performance telling the story of her life in prose and dance. The said show was being performed in the northern Italian town of Verbania, her home most of her life. The writer of the show said that it represents the feminine courage that rebelled against domestic violence.
