Ferrari LaFerrari (or Ferrari The Ferrari) is the company's latest and greatest hybrid hypercar. It is one of the fastest supercars on the planet, and can be said that it is a hypercar. With speeds exceeding 220 mph, the car races to 60 mph in less than three seconds, while 125 mph comes about at second seconds.

The LaFerrari is a carbon fiber monocoque structure made by Ferrari's own F1 team, and therefore a few F1 characteristics can be found in the car. The car itself is a marvel, as it produces the highest amount of power in any Ferrari so far, and also reduces the fuel consumption by 40 percent.

LaFerrari has a massive 789 bhp engine that churns out 520 lb-ft of torque. The car also has a high tech KERS system, which recovers the kinetic energy of the car that it loses under braking. This kinetic energy translates to an addition of 161 bhp of power, making the total power come at a massive 950 bhp and 664 lb-ft of torque.

It goes without saying, that this car is a limited edition, and only 499 units were proposed. However, Ferrari has recently proposed a 500th unit for auction, as a gift to its home country and also to raise money for the earthquake that devastated Central Italy.

The car would be auctioned by RM Sotheby's at Ferrari's Finali Mondiali weekend being hosted at Daytona International Speedway. All the raised money would go to the National Italian American Foundation's Earthquake Relief Fund.

"The earthquakes which have struck Central Italy this year devastated the lives of thousands of people, and the money raised by the sale of this one-of-a-kind, and final, LaFerrari, could not be put to a better use," said Rob Myers, CEO and Chairman of RM Sotheby's.

The new Ferrari's have been sold at a price tag of $1.5 million, however it is expected that the last LaFerrari would fetch more than that. The auction will be held on the Dec. 3.
