While oils have been proven effective as alternative medicine for centuries, it is slowly returning to the limelight because of the growing popularity of organic products in the recent years. While consumption and use of these oils are still subject to a physician's advice, many studies and research have proven the efficacy of these ingredients. 

Here are 10 essential oils that could double as alternative medicine:

Lemon (Citrus Limon)

Not only is lemon a kitchen favorite but is also a prominent cleaning agent, and capable to brighten skin tone. Lemon has anti-microbial properties as well, so adding a few drops of emon in a glass of water can remove bad breath.

Clove (Eugenia Caryophyllata)

Clove has antiseptic properties that is sought-after for relieving dental problems for centuries. It helps in aiding toothaches, gum problems, and cold sores. Its oil can be diluted to cure Athelete's foot, prickly heat, wounds, cuts, and insect bites.

Lavender ( Lavandula Angustifolia)
