‘Alien: Covenant' Casts James Franco, Details On His Role Here!
It seems like Ridley Scott, despite his uncanny need to scare people, is going to bring comedy into the scene. As "Alien: Covenant" cast members continue to grow, will James Franco's entry to the franchise alter the way the legendary director will take on his future films?
Franco's Involvement
It has recently been confirmed by James Franco himself that he will be a part of the "Alien: Covenant" cast. His participation in the decades-old franchise got fans curious as to whether his participation would signal a good and brand new take on the films.
As was manifested by fans in a Reddit thread about the "Alien: Covenant" update, adding a comedic actor to the scene would make Scott's films even more interesting although the franchise itself was to scare the audience.
In fact, one fan said that series such as "Breaking Bad" and "One Hour Photo" have comedic themes, but turned out to be among the greatest drama series of television. With that, one fan was optimistic that Franco's participation will bring something fresh to the franchise.
Another fan alleged that although Franco was a known comedic actor, he has also been acknowledged as a serious actor with his portrayal in "127 Hours." Given this fact, will his participation be 'all comedy'?
On other news, Entertainment Weekly reported that Scott himself claimed that scaring people is tough but making them laugh is easier. This may have paved way for Franco's casting in his latest upcoming film "Alien: Covenant."
Cast Updates
Other than Franco, Michael Fassbender will reprise his role as David while Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Katherine Waterson, and Jussie Smollet will likewise reprise their roles in "Alien: Covenant."
"Alien: Covenant" will release in theaters this coming May 19, 2017. Will James Franco be a comedian in the installment or will his role be more serious like in "127 Hours"?
