Old Dutch recall has been imposed upon the potato chips company as reports indicated the sour cream and cheddar-flavored packs were infested with salmonella. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed that those sold in 66g and 255g bags would be affected by the said recall.

The Old Dutch recall was announced in Canada, specifically for products sold in Northern Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.

As reported by CTV News, those that were marked with best-before dates from Aug. 10, 2016, until Feb. 24, 2017, for the smaller bags and those with best-before dates ranging from Aug. 10, 2016, through March 2, 2017, in larger bags would be a part of the recall.

The bags with these tagged dates which were categorized with masses under 66g and 255g bags are the ones affected by the Old Dutch recall.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, this would not be the first time the Old Dutch recall would be imposed as another country already compelled the company to cater to the said protocol. Although there have been no confirmed reports as to whether the people who consumed the product went ill, the CFIA urged the consumers to dispose of the products or return them to where they purchased said bags.

As reported by Prince George Citizen, salmonella usually emanates from poultry food and will cause vomiting when consumed. Other products that may be contaminated with the disease-causing organism are canned and packed food such as peanut butter, whole grain cereal, canned vegetables, unflavored oatmeal, and potato chips such as Old Dutch.

Consumers of the potato chips were compelled to defer from purchasing products that matched the description released by the CFIA and could return these products per compliance of the Old Dutch recall.
