With the Holiday season just around the corner, various retailers are offering discounts and sales on their items. And this year, Steam's Winter Season Sale will go live on December 22.

Like any other game retailer, Steam is also going to have a sale this holiday season. According to PCGamer, Steam's Winter Sale will start on December 22. No further information has been said on the end date of Steam's Winter Sale but the deals will remain until the 5th of January next year. Like any other sale, various game titles will have their prices cut at big discounts

Steam's sales are notorious for gamers. Every time there's a Steam sale, large discounts on popular game titles are at stake. Like the previous Summer, Autumn, and the recently Thanksgiving sale, people can expect lots of popular titles to have big discounts. Discounts can go as big as 60% to 90% for the Winter sale. During the previous Thanksgiving Steam Sale, games such as Call of Duty, Civilization, and Grand Theft Auto got their prices down to as low as 92% of their original price. There's a chance for the Winter Sale to do something like this again, following the success of the previous Steam sale.

Ever since last year, Steam decided to forgo their tradition daily deals and flash sales during their Seasonal Sales. Both daily deals and flash sales are ways for people to get an even lower price for their preferred game in the midst of a Steam Sale. As long as the preferred game is featured on Steam's homepage and tagged as a daily deal or flash deal, its price can still go lower from its original discounted price. Now, Steam emphasized that there's only going to be one version of a game discount, regardless if it's a featured game or not. Since having only one discount for the game the entire sale is a thing since the Steam Winter Sale last year and the previous sales this year, it is most likely to happen with the Winter Sale.

With Steam's Winter Sale, people can expect discounts on popular titles such as Civilization, Call of Duty, Dishonored series, Dark Souls, and much more. And like its previous sales, Steam will also host a poll where people can place their votes in certain categories while browsing Steam. The voting will open the same day as the Winter Sale. This gives people to nominate certain games which they deem fit to a certain category. The Steam 2016 Winter Sale will end on January 2, 2017.
