With Nintendo's move in bringing a popular video game icon to the mobile, another one will follow suit. One of the popular video game icons, Mega Man, will also join the world of mobile.

In a statement released by Capcom, they said that Mega Man games will be coming to Android. According to Polygon, the original six Mega Man games will be coming to Android sometime in January. Originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1987, Mega Man 1, along with its successors until the sixth installment will all be available for Android and iOS for $2 each! That's relatively cheap for people to get their hands on classic game titles. The first Mega Man game was released almost thirty years ago in 1987.

Unfortunately, the Mega Man games won't be the same original NES releases years ago. According to Capcom, the game will be tweaked and optimized to suit the mobile environment. So those games may not offer the same experience with the NES. Since it will be ported for mobile, controls will most likely be using the touchscreen.

Capcom, the developers and publishers for Mega Man, is not known to bring games to the mobile. However, they released some of their notable titles such as Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man X for the iOS. Only Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is the Capcom game released for the Android and an expensive one to boot!

There is no reason why Capcom is bringing the original six Mega Man games for mobile. It is possible that they are joining the bandwagon of nostalgia, along with Nintendo. Earlier this year, Nintendo released the NES Classic console, which is a cheap version of the original NES console at an affordable price. Over thirty games are built inside the NES Classic, with Mega Man 2 one of the titles. There's also the Super Mario Run, a first in the Super Mario franchise also ported for the iOS earlier this month.
