The fans of ABC's hit medical drama series, Grey's Anatomy knows all too well that the show is never an easy one for relationships. From bizarre love stories to unlikely partnerships and even deaths, life as a couple - married or not - on the show is not to be taken lightly.

According to showrunner Shonda Rhimes, the tricky course of each relationship on the show is not about to change on Season 13. In fact, if anything, it's bound to get more complicated.

In a recent interview for TVLine, Shonda Rhimes made it clear that the relationships on Grey Sloan are about to get more complicated. Regardless if it's a relationship between friends, co-workers or lovers, it will not be a good season.

Rhonda mentioned during the email interview, "Meredith's journey is always interesting and complex," explaining Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) journey on the show so far. "There are so many aspects to her as woman, a surgeon, a sister and a mother."

The show revolves around Pompeo's character, as well as some other major characters from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Speaking of characters, it was reported that another character will be making a comeback to the show.

These spoilers suggest that Sara Ramirez will be returning to Grey's Anatomy. Surprisingly, Shonda Rhimes has remained quiet about Sara Ramirez return, despite openly talking about how she feels Torres' departure.

In another recent interview, Rhimes was asked whether or not she will bring back Torres' character, she only uttered "I love Sara Ramirez and I love Callie Torres." This statement is more than enough to start theories from fans.

On the other hand, Sara Ramirez has yet to confirm whether or not she wants to return in the show's 14th season. After all, it was her decision to leave Grey's Anatomy on its 12th season.

Fans will have to wait until Grey's Anatomy returns on air, January 19. Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
