2016 is the year for retro-gaming. The popular classic tycoon game, RollerCoaster Tycoon hits the mobile field for both iOS and Android devices.

RollerCoaster Tycoon's publisher, Atari, announced that RollerCoaster Tycoon is available for the iOS and Android devices today. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic will feature a combination from the original RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. The game is available in the App and Play Stores for $5.99.

For those who are not familiar with the RollerCoaster Tycoon games, it is a simulation game where players will be given the power to create and manage amusement parks. The first RollerCoaster Tycoon was released back in 1999 for the PC. Its successor, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 was released in 2003. Both games were developed by Chris Sawyer Productions. The goal of this game is to create and manage an amusement park by building rides and stalls to keep the guests happy.

Since RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is a combination of the two games, fans of the said simulation game can enjoy the features found in both games when they play. According to Chris Sawyer, the developer behind RollerCoaster Tycoon series, he said that it is his dream to be able to port RollerCoaster Tycoon to modern devices with a touch of the classic feel. Like any other retro game ported for mobile, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is optimized to run smoothly on the latest smartphones and have controls patterned after mobile devices.

Similar to the games that exist in the market, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is also offering in-app microtransactions. These includes DLCs, where players can get for only $1.99 each. The DLCs contain scenarios which were originally part of the expansion in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 back in 2003. The other good thing about the game is that it gives the players an option to migrate the old save files from PCs to their mobile devices. With the Toolkit, it lets players design their theme park and lets them save it for future scenarios for only $5.99. It also lets players play their original PC save file once migrated on their mobile devices.
