Season 4 of BBC's 'Sherlock' is Set to Air on January 1, 2017: News, Updates, and What to Expect
Season Four of BBC's Sherlock has been filmed and is set to officially start on New Year. The first episode will be aired on January 1, 2017.
BBC's Sherlock Season Four. After exactly a year since the "The Abominable Bride", a Sherlock special episode, fans will now be treated to BBC's Sherlock Season Four. Its first episode will air on New Year's Day, January 1, 2017.
The first episode has been titled "The Six Thatchers" and is scheduled to air at 8:30 PM on January 1, 2017. The next episode, titled "The Lying Detective" will air the following Sunday.
The third episode is scheduled to air on the third Sunday, January 15, 2017. Sherlock's episode 3 has yet to be given a title.
The first trailer for Season Four of Sherlock doesn't give much of the plot away but has sure gotten fans excited. We see it start off with Moriarty asking, "Did you miss me?" This follows with Sherlock telling the viewers about a whole new threat, someone other than Moriarty.
The rest of the trailer gives a whole lot of action and a Mycroft earning the ire of Mrs. Hudson. We also hear Molly hysterically shouting the classic Holmes quote, "This isn't a game!"
Toby Jones seems to be fit for the part of Season Four's main villain, Culverton Smith. The trailer gives us Jones' Smith delivering an ominous line promising Sherlock with "endless fun".
Steven Moffat, the writer behind Sherlock, says that it's going to be one tough season for both Sherlock and Watson. He has been quoted saying, "They kind of go to hell and back this time."
As far as the first trailer is concerned, it seems that this new season of Sherlock will leave viewers satisfied and could even be wanting for more. For now, fans will have to settle for it and other trailers to get by until the New Year.
