'Yuri On Ice' Season 2 Air Date: Sequel May Happen Soon Despite Shocking Ending Of Episode 12
"Yuri On Ice" is definitely one of those "love it or hate it" anime series. Even though the Japanese animation is on the fanservice side of the Sports anime spectrum, season 1 was a huge success which may mean that "Yuri On Ice" Season 2 may already be a done deal.
Season 1 has certainly pushed the envelopes when it comes to the norm in anime. "Yuri On ice" explored something that most anime wouldn't dwell very deep into or even scratch the surface of - sexuality. "Yuri On Ice" boldly covers sexual identity, as well as confidence and its connection to intimacy and that makes it more interesting and intriguing. It is rare for an animated series to give viewers so much to delve into in only the first season.
Although it has not been confirmed that a sequel will be happening soon, Inquisitr suggests that "Yuri On Ice" Season 2 release date may be revealed, possibly in 2017. The Japanese sports anime television series' writer, Mitsuro Kubo, hinted the possibility of a "Yuri on Ice" sequel in an English interview, which was posted on a Tumblr account.
Kubo said that he'll be focusing his time and efforts for the remainder of the year on "Yuri On Ice." "I have a lot of plans in the works with the director for next year," the "Yuri On Ice" writer said, adding that he's "working hard" to fulfill his dream of making a sequel for the show.
As most fans have already predicted, Yuri Katsuki did not take the top spot in "Yuri On Ice" Season 1 finale. Since the show's protagonist had only bagged the silver medal in episode 12, fans believe that his purpose is not yet done and may finally take gold in "Yuri On Ice" Season 2! While the speculations of the fans makes a lot of sense, there is still no official word regarding the release date of the highly-anticipated sequel.
