Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: Redemption Begins With AI Assistant Called ‘Bixby’
Samsung has a tough road ahead to recover from a forgetful 2016. Kicking off that redemption campaign is the Samsung Galaxy S8 which should be out by the first quarter of 2017. The first thing that most are concerned about is the exploding battery issue.
Though it was tied up to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, most are still wary of it happening on the Samsung Galaxy S8. To date, Samsung has yet to come up with an official statement. Regardless, the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S8 picks up from a more successful Samsung Galaxy S7/ S7 Edge line should alleviate apprehensions. To pad fears, there is a new twist expected for the next Samsung flagship.
This comes in the form of the company’s very own AI assistant for the Samsung Galaxy S8. There are actually two speculated to come out, a male and female AI. The male AI assistant will be known as “Bixby” while the female version will be known as “Kestra”, the Galaxy Club reported. Both will aid Samsung Galaxy S8 owners when it comes to making mobile payments as well as provide answers and actions based on context.
“Bixby” is a brainchild of Viv, the same company behind Apple’s “Siri”. Samsung acquired Viv in early 2016, Sam Mobile reported. While “Bixby” or “Kestra” should be something interesting to see, there are of course more to wait on for the Samsung Galaxy S8. Recent reports claim that the next flagship will integrate new biometric security as well like a fingerprint and iris scanner.
There is also the matter of what kind of OLED display the Samsung Galaxy S8 will carry as well as an expected advanced new camera which the company has been known to deliver. With the smartphone expected to be souped up once more, many are hopeful that such does not take too much strain on the Samsung Galaxy S8 to avoid putting much toll on the device’s battery.
