WWE 2017 Latest News & Update: Best Booking of options for the Undertaker For Wrestlemania 33 [POLL]
The Undertaker has yet to re-appear after the 900th episode of WWE SmackDown though most believe he will rise from the grave soon. With the Royal Rumble 2017 fast-approaching, the “Dead Man” needs to emerge to start his Wrestlemania 33 storyline.
The next big WWE pay-per-view is the Royal Rumble which takes place at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Undertaker is not officially booked for a match though most believe he will show up anyway. The logical match for him to appear would be during (or after) the John Cena vs. AJ Styles clash for the WWE SmackDown heavyweight title.
Cena recently returned to the WWE scene and made it clear that he wanted another shot at the gold, WWE.com reported. An Undertaker vs. John Cena match at Wrestlemania 33 match is nothing new. It was something originally set for Wrestlemania 32 until the latter suffered an untimely nose injury. With a seemingly healthy Cena, that botched match with the Undertaker may finally take place.
Hence, the “Dead Man” could intervene in the title-match or appear once the results have been rendered. For now, it remains unclear why the “Phenom” would target Cena though it could be about bragging rights, Forbes reported. Cena did mention before that locking horns with the Undertaker is something he would love to do. There could be a special stipulation in place such as a retirement match or placing the legacy of either at stake.
Recall that this was the same clause placed at Wrestlemania 32 when the Undertaker faced off against Shane McMahon. The “Dead Man’s” legacy was on the line in exchange for control by Shane McMahon for WWE Raw. If not the Royal Rumble, the Undertaker could emerge on WWE SmackDown after the pay-per-view. If Cena ends up winning the title from Styles, that legacy angle looks pretty much fit for a Wrestlemania 33 storyline.
