Janet Jackson News & Update: Performer Becomes a First Time Mom at 50; Find Out Her Baby's Name Here!
It's a wonderful New Year for Janet Jackson, as she had just given birth to a healthy baby boy. The performer becomes a first time mom at 50, giving birth to her son with husband Wissam Al Mana. Last year, Jackson's tour was abruptly put on hold when she found out she was pregnant.
According to CNN, Jackson took to social media in April last year to announce that she will be delaying her tour because she and her husband were "planning our family." The artist then spent a few months shying away from the spotlight, sparking rumors that she was indeed pregnant.
In October, Jackson revealed her pregnancy and her hopes of becoming a first time mom at 50. She and Al Mana have been married since 2012, and this baby is their first child. Per People, the pair named their son Eissa, who was born on January 3. The representative for the Jackson-Al Mana family said that Jackson had a "stress-free healthy delivery" and is currently resting following the birth of her first child.
As Jackson becomes a first time mom at 50, fans are speculating whether or not she will have time to go on to continue her "Unbreakable World Tour" that was set to hit the U.S., England, Canada, and U.K. The year-long tour that launched in August 2015 was cut short due to her pregnancy.
The Jackson family is in high spirits with the addition of baby Eissa. Janet's brother, Jermaine, who has nine children, expressed his joy and support for his sister. He praised her strength and admitted that he would be there for her anytime she needs her. "I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day," Jermaine said.
