James Gunn might still be promoting his new Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", but the director already has big ideas for future MCU flicks. The producer of "The Belko Experiment" has just revealed that he has pitched a possible "Moon Knight" movie to Marvel, but fans appear to have other plans for Marc Spector.

Moon Knight might not be as popular as other Marvel characters, but Marc Spector's dark antihero certainly has his own legion of fans. As it turns out, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn happens to be one of these fans and he has already pitched an idea for an MCU film for the superhero.

The director of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" confirmed on Twitter that yes, he is a huge fan of Moon Knight. In addition to that, James Gunn has actually pitched an idea to make a movie about Marc Spector to Marvel. Unfortunately, he is far too busy to work on the possible MCU project himself.

The thought of a Moon Knight Marvel film immediately had fans excited, but there were also a few who think that James Gunn's pitch might not be the best way to go if the director will not be involved. Some believe that Marc Spector's story should be told in a Netflix series so Gunn can at least executive produce the show or direct the pilot episode.

Marvel has no comment on a possible Moon Knight film just yet, but fans are hopeful that James Gunn's pitch will be considered soon. In the meantime, the director has two projects getting released this year. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will premiere on May 5 while "The Belko Project", which Gunn wrote and produced, will hit theaters on March 17.
