'The X-Files' Season 11 Air Date Set For 2018, Mulder And Scully, Chris Carter Return For Another Exciting Season
Fans better be prepared for a long wait for "The X-Files" Season 11. Although Fox has every intention to release a new season of the beloved sci-fi series, it could take longer for the network to come up with a followup. This would mean that Fox Mulder and Dana Scully could return sometime in 2018.
The previous season of "The X-Files" certainly suggested that the series is far from over, especially with Mulder still needing a cure that was created by Scully and the spaceship hovering above in the final moments. Unfortunately, fans have to wait at least another year to find out what happens next in "The X-Files" Season 11.
Fox chairman Dana Walden has previously confirmed that the network have already spoken to creator Chris Carter about working on "The X-Files" Season 11. Walden also stated that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are definitely on board for another season. It was even suggested that Mulder and Scully will be back in 2017.
The news certainly had fans excited for "The X-Files" Season 11. However, Dana Walden later went back on the statement by saying the new season will be a part of Fox's 2017-2018 lineup. Hopefully, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will have already cleared their schedules to reunite with Chris Carter and work on the series once again.
Mulder's illness, Scully's cure and the giant spaceship are not the only things that need to be dealt with in "The X-Files" Season 11. The series will also need to explain what happened to the boy William, who was revealed to be missing in the last few minutes of "My Struggle II". There are already speculations that Mulder and Scully's son may have been abducted, which could be a major part of the storyline when the show finally returns on Fox in 2018.
