'Vikings' Season 4 Spoilers: Lagertha Will Not Be Overthrown By Ivar The Boneless, Creator Michael Hirst Confirmed
Fans have good reason to worry about Lagertha in the upcoming episodes of "Vikings" Season 4. The new ruler of Kattegat could be in danger of being killed by Ragnar Lothbrok's son Ivar the Boneless after she assassinated his mother Aslaug. So is it possible that the Earl Ingstad will meet her end at hands of Ragnar's crippled son in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 17?
The murder of Lagertha might be the obvious next step for "Vikings" Season 4 now that Ivar the Boneless is desperate to avenge the death of his beloved mother. However, the show's creator Michael Hirst assures fans that Lagertha will not be overthrown so easily in the next few episodes of the History series.
Michael Hirst recently spoke to Monsters and Critics about the death of Ragnar Lothbrok and the future of Lagertha in the series. The "Vikings" Season 4 creator did confirm that Ragnar's sons will attempt to murder Lagertha but was quick to point out that the new ruler of Kattegat isn't someone who will easily be killed. "She's extraordinary," Hirst said of the character.
Fans who are looking for more evidence of Lagertha's survival in "Vikings" Season 4 could simply turn to Katheryn Winnick's Instagram account. The actress who portrays Kattegat's new ruler has been actively sharing photos from the set of the show and confirming she is still filming for "Vikings" Season 5.

It certainly looks like Katheryn Winnick has a script for "Vikings" Season 5, so this could mean that Lagertha will survive until the end of the current season. Hopefully, the new ruler of Kattegat will find a way to deal with Ragnar Lothbrok's furious sons in the upcoming episode. See more of Lagertha and Ivar the Boneless in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 17.
