‘Outlander’ Season 3 News & Update: Caitriona Balfe Teases Claire, Jamie’s Reunion; Hints Steamy Scenes
"Outlander" Season 3 is expected to be released in 2017 and stars of the show are now busy filming for the series. In fact, two of the most much-awaited scenes are already shot as Caitriona Balfe (who plays the role of Claire Fraser) gave little teasers while gracing the red carpet of the 73rd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.
Fans have been waiting for the print shop scene in "Outlander" Season 3 and the on-screen partner of Sam Heughan (who portrays Jamie Fraser) also talked about it. The said sequence has been filmed in Scotland, but the 37-year-old actress didn't want to give many details. Instead, Caitriona Balfe gave small hints on how she felt while shooting that particular scene when Claire and Jamie reunited after 20 years.
Balfe revealed that the script for the "Outlander" Season 3 print shop scene was beautifully written by Matt B. Roberts, as it was full of emotion. The much-talked about sequence will see Claire reuniting with Jamie after she bravely returned from the stones from the 20th century, although she also believed that he already died at the Battle of the Culloden. Caitriona Balfe also told Entertainment Weekly that they "better get it right" during filming as fans are looking forward to seeing the anticipated scene.
Furthermore, Balfe described Jamie and Claire's reunion in "Outlander" Season 3 to Elle as "very heartwarming and very tender." At the pre-Golden Globes BAFTA tea in Los Angeles, she revealed that some really can't keep these two apart. The "Money Monster" actress hinted that the first episode of the third chapter will pick up the show's first episode ending from the previous season, thus fans will get to see more of Jonathan/Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies).
Balfe continued to explain that Jamie and Claire's reunion in "Outlander" Season 3 is weighed down and also complicated. As the couple now see each other again, some question if there will be some steamy scenes after they have been apart for so long. Caitrion Balfe explained that it could be and avoided the question, saying that she might not be able to gauge as fairly as she should.
