Everyone is still reeling from the death of Ragnar Lothbrok, who was mercilessly tortured before being thrown into a snakepit. However, it isn't King Aelle who needs to be worried in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 17. Lagertha could be preparing to kill King Ecbert, who surrendered Ragnar to Aelle in the first place. But is it possible that Ivar the Boneless will use the Blood Eagle to assassinate Ecbert in "The Great Army"?

Fans have already been worried about Lagertha after Ivar the Boneless discovered that she had killed Aslaug. However, it looks like the new ruler of Kattegat and the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok are eager to put aside their differences in order to seek vengeance for Ragnar's murder. There is little doubt that Lagertha's army will go back to Wessex to kill King Ecbert in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 17. The question is, will it be Lagertha or Ivar the Boneless who will decide Ecbert's fate in "The Great Army"?

Lagertha and King Ecbert are not exactly strangers. The two met and became, ahem, friendly, in the third season of "Vikings" but Lagertha insisted on returning to her earldom in Hedeby. Although they parted as friends, Ecbert's decision to massacre the Viking encampment in Wessex then give Ragnar Lothbrok to King Aelle could prove that their next meeting in "The Great Army" will be deadly. Will it be Lagertha, not Ivar the Boneless, who will kill King Ecbert in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 17?

It would make sense for Lagertha to avenge her dead ex-husband, but history also wrote another possible way to kill King Ecbert. Although it was King Aelle who was assassinated by Ivar the Boneless using the Blood Eagle, "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 17 could push for Ecbert to receive the grisly fate in "The Great Army" instead. The brutal form of execution has previously been employed by Ragnar Lothbrok on Jarl Borg in the second season.
