Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: New Case Leaks Shows Headphone Jack Retention; Relocation Of Buttons, Ports
The anticipation for the Samsung Galaxy S8 continues to ramp up with most under the impression that the Korean company will pluck away some changes made by its rival, Apple. Leaks have been coming out one after the other, but a recent one indicates that the headphone jack will remain on the next installment expected next month.
A new set of leaked photos in the possible case of the Samsung Galaxy S8 appeared recently via Slashleaks. In the images, a 3.5 mm port was still around which douses the previous talk that Samsung is following Apple’s lead of eliminating the audio port, Sam Mobile reported. Outside the 3.5 mm port tied up to the Samsung Galaxy S8, some potential external features were also observed.
That included provisions for three buttons located on the left part of the case, something meant for the volume controls and the power/standby buttons. The back portion also tells something more about what to possibly expect for the Samsung Galaxy S8. It shows a slightly different placement of the camera topped by a hole that could very well be for the flash/heart rate monitor.
At the top portion is a possibly a cut-out for the microSD card slot while the bottom portion shows provisions for a potential USB-C port now at the far bottom right. Most are advised that this is not the first time that case renders have come out to add to the fire on upcoming devices. The Samsung Galaxy S8 may or may not have these in tow, so it would be best to take this with a grain of salt at least for now.
Samsung is expected to showcase the Galaxy S8 next month at its traditional Unpacked event before the Mobile World Congress 2017. The next flagships will reportedly go into full production in March with a set release for April, according to Forbes.
