‘Wayward Pines’ Season 3 Not Cancelled, Show Now In Discussion
Fans are still waiting for the renewal of "Wayward Pines" Season 3 as some believe that the show will be near to cancellation. Fortunately, FOX entertainment president David Madden ended the show's supporters' agony and revealed that the mystery, science fiction television series will definitely see the light of day.
The continuation of "Wayward Pines" Season 3 has been in a dividing line after its second season didn't rake in good ratings. Since then, Fox has yet to announce its official return or even its renewal that make some think that it has been canceled. But, Madden recently slammed the news and revealed that the series based on Blake Crouch's novel with the same title will be once again seen on the small screens, although it won't be this 2017, according to Flickering Myth.
"'Wayward' is not canceled, but it will not be on this summer," Madden said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. "Wayward Pines" Season 3 didn't manage to pull off to be revealed this summer as there is still a discussion about its casting. "We're still talking about it, it's possible you'll see 'Wayward' at some point back on Fox," he said. However, he further explained that they are putting their attention mostly on "unscripted this summer."
Hence, "Wayward Pines" Season 3 won't be seen this 2017 because of the unscripted summer line up. But, this also means that the M. Night Shyamalan series is now in development and will be soon in the works. The show's first season had over-performed in ratings while the second season evidently dropped, thus the cancellation news emerged.
With all that have been said, fans will definitely see the return of the much-awaited "Wayward Pines" Season 3, although Fox has yet to reveal when exactly, Cinemablend reported. Once again, viewers will see the story left by the secret service agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) and the Abbies.
