In-game events that coincide with real-world events have been known to help increase a game's popularity. Just take "Pokemon GO," which held a massively successful Halloween event last year. Blizzard's "Overwatch" recently did the same by holding a holiday event. Now, Blizzard announces Chinese New Year Event that's set to launch on Tuesday, January 24.

The news came via GameSpot, which reported that the upcoming event for "Overwatch" is titled "Year of the Rooster" and will launch on January 24. According to the report, the scope of the event will emulate that of those that have passed, such as the exciting Halloween and Christmas-themed events. While the announcement did not hint at any possible content included in the Chinese New Year event, some leaks indicate that it may include skins for Winston, Reinhardt, Zenyatta, and Roadhog.

According to Eurogamer, a user has found a piece of art that shows Winston, Reinhardt, Zenyatta, and Roadhog in Chinese-themed outfits. In fact, Winston is dressed as the monkey kin Sun Wukong, while Zenyatta is dressed as the Buddhism master Tang Sanzang.

Roadhog is the pig monster Zhu Bajie, and Reinhardt is the river monster Sha Heshang. While there are no further details on the "Overwatch" Chinese New Year event, fans may expect several Chinese-themed loot boxes, skins, sprays, emotes, intros, and other cool content.
