Last year's Game Awards held in December showcased one of the most highly anticipated reveals ever: the trailer for the upcoming Hideo Kojima game, "Death Stranding." For an upcoming video game which release date has not yet been set, there's a lot of buzz surrounding it already, and for good reason.

The trailer featured Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and acclaimed Guillermo del Toro, who fans assumed had a creative hand in building the game. But the latest news indicate otherwise.
IGN, saying that contrary to popular belief, he is not creatively involved in "Death Stranding."

In fact, he was only part of the "Death Stranding" trailer as an actor, and nothing more. Consider it a favor from del Toro to Kojima, who asked the director to play a character in the game. That's why Guillermo del Toro's involvement in upcoming Hideo Kojima game ends in the trailer.

Nonetheless, del Toro admits that he is thoroughly excited for "Death Stranding" because he claims that it's through and through Kojima's game. It seems that Guillermo del Toro's involvement in upcoming Hideo Kojima game ends in the trailer, as the acclaimed director shared his experience in motion capture for the character. He shared that it took a lot of time and effort to fully capture himself and place his image in the trailer.

According to Polygon, the reason why Guillermo del Toro's involvement in upcoming Hideo Kojima game ends in the trailer is possibly because he has a lot on his plate as well. He is currently busy working on "Pacific Rim: Uprising," which stars John Boyega and Idris Elba, and is also fresh off the success of the Netflix cartoon series "Trollhunters." "Death Stranding" has no release date set at the moment, but make sure to check back for more updates.
