Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: No Flagship Appearing at Mobile World Congress 2017
Samsung may have explained the row involving the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and its battery-exploding mess but most know this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 to ponder on though there is word that the flagship will not be appearing at the Mobile World Congress 2017 as confirmed by mobile chief Dong-jin Koh.
The announcement may come as a surprise considering Samsung as always unveiled its flagship the past years at the annual event. In fact, Samsung normally unveils its latest flagship at their own special event, “Unpacked”. It remains to be seen if Samsung will instead launch a different product, something Koh did not touch on. As far as the Samsung Galaxy S8 is concerned, the flagship is likely to be launched on Mar. 29 at a special event and released by the third week of April, Reuters reported.
The delay may be something that folks will frown upon, though not entirely surprising. After the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle, the Korean giant is making sure to enhance product safety. Thus, Samsung is somehow veering away with the fast-paced release of its mobile devices, taking a hit at least for now, Forbes reported.
As mentioned in a previous post, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge is expected to rebound in a big way. According to the grapevine, the next flagship will feature a new AI named “Bixby” and a vastly improved front-facing highlighted by integrated autofocus which addresses the growing number of users hooked on ‘selfies’.
Aside from those speculated standout features, other specs the Samsung Galaxy S8 may carry include a 6-inch pressure-sensitive display, either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 935 or Exynos 8895 SoC, 8 GB of RAM and a new S-Pen Stylus. There is no word on the battery the Galaxy S8 would be coming with, hopefully, better to avoid overloads that got tied up to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 explosions.
