“Rick & Morty” season 3 was originally scheduled to return December of last year; however it seems that the production has been slow for the Adult Swim animation series. In an interview at the Sundance Film Festival, co-creator Dan Harmon took responsibility for the delay.

“Rick & Morty” season 3 fans were greatly disappointed when it failed to air in December last year. The Adult Swim series was expected to air December of last year and co-creator Dan Harmon took responsibility for the delay according to his Indiewire interview last Sunday at the Sundance Film Festival. He apologized and said that it was all because of him why season 3 is taking a long time to produce.

Dan Harmon brutally took the blame for the delay of “Rick & Morty” season 3, saying that the third installment was a hard one to write. Even Justin Roiland would agree if he was present, Harmon said. This was the message he told the crowd at YouTube’s pop-up space in Park City, Utah. The co-creator admitted though that it was hard to identify what exactly is pulling them back. He just knew that there were creative struggles while he and Roiland were mapping out the show.

That being said, there are speculations that Dan Harmon is looking into hiring SNL writer Katie Rich after she was suspended for her Barron Trump tweets, Comic Book reported. Harmon took to Twitter to show his intentions of hiring Rick after her indefinite suspension by NBC. The writer was suspended after she saying that Barron will be American’s first home-school shooter. The message has been taken down and her account has since been deactivated. It's not yet clear what project he intended to put Rich on.

“Rick & Morty” season 3 has no definite air date as of the moment but Adult Swim confirmed that it will be airing 14 episodes. The series last aired in October 2015. So better subscribe so you can get the latest updates about your favorite Adult Swim animation series.
