‘The Dark Tower’ To Tackle ‘Dark Tale Of Christianity,’ Says Matthew McConaughey; Will Feature Epic Battle Of Good & Evil
"The Dark Tower" will definitely come on the big screen in spite of the many delays and issues. In the new interview with the movie's lead star Matthew McConaughey, he gave fans a little glimpse of what to expect from Roland Deschain (Idris Elba) and his character as The Man in Black.
As the film will be an adaptation of Stephen King's book series with the same title, it has been said that it won't exactly copy the book. Instead, We Got This Covered reported that it will be a sequel of sorts to the novels. Matthew McConaughey even talked what he expects from the battle of The Gunslinger and The Man in Black in the upcoming "The Dark Tower."
Matthew McConaughey described it like a "dark tale of Christianity." It will be an epic mythological fight between the good and evil. The 47-year-old actor also teased that there will be multiple worlds that can be seen in "The Dark Tower" that can be live in all at once. From here, fans will see him as The Man in Black, Walter, The Gunslinger confronting each other.
Meanwhile, the multiple worlds Matthew McConaughey was talking about can be read in the later version of the book but will be seen in "The Dark Tower" film. According to Screen Rant, Stephen King's writings have been known for containing biblical testimonials, which are more explicit compared to others. The character of The Man in Black has appeared in a lot of the author's works like "The Stand" and "The Eyes of the Dragon."
Aside from The Man in Black, he is also known as Randall Flagg, The Walkin' Dude and The Dark Man. In fact, his character can be the equivalent of the Devil in the Bible, although Stephen King cleared that it is not the case. Matthew McConaughey's role in "The Dark Tower" is known to be charismatic, but it is an incarnation of pure evil. From the author's own words, he said that he wants to draw to the dark side of every people.
