'Vikings' Season 4 Episode 20 Predictions & Spoilers: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers Negotiates With Ivar The Boneless In 'The Reckoning'
The fourth season of "Vikings" is almost over, and it is finally time for the Great Heathen Army to take on the joint forces of Mercia and Wessex. In addition to that, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers will finally debut as the Bishop Heahmund, the mysterious new character who is set to play a huge role "Vikings" Season 5. But is it possible that Heahmund will be the one to negotiate with Ivar the Boneless in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 20?
In "On The Eve", the Great Heathen Army has reached Mercia and is ready to engage Prince Aethelwulf and the Saxons. It was Ivar the Boneless who hatched a plan to make the most of the battlefield so could it be Ragnar Lothbrok's crippled son who will deal with negotiations in "The Reckoning"? There is little doubt that Ivar will face Jonathan Rhys-Meyers' character before the end of "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 20.
Alex Høgh Andersen has previously teased about shooting a scene with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers on Instagram, and the post immediately had fans wondering if the then-unnamed character will be dealing with the Great Heathen Army in "Vikings" Season 5. Now that the character's name has been revealed, there is little doubt that Heahmund could face Ivar and the rest of the Great Heathen Army in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 20.
The real Bishop Heahmund passed away in the Battle of Marton, which pit the Great Heathen Army against King Aethelred and Prince Alfred of Wessex. There is a possibility that this particular battle will not happen until after the fifth season, so this could mean Jonathan Rhys-Meyers will be around to deal with Ivar the Boneless long after "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 20 has ended.
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers will make his debut as the Bishop Heahmund in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 20. "The Reckoning" will air on History on February 1.
