NBA Trade News 2017: DeMarcus Cousins May End Up With The Phoenix Suns
DeMarcus Cousins is no stranger to NBA trade talks though all that should have been over and done with by now. With reports previously stating that the temperamental center will be dangled a lucrative deal, it seemed that “Boogie” Cousins will remain a Sacramento King for years to come.
That was until a new report recently cropped up tying up the Phoenix Suns. The dish comes from Arizona Sports, alleging that the Suns have engaged in discussions with the Kings about DeMarcus Cousins. John Gambadoro claimed that the players involved were T.J. Warren, Alex Len and the Phoenix’s first-round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The report was eventually shot down by the Sacramento Bee, reiterating once more that the Kings have no intention of moving DeMarcus Cousins without getting a high-profile player in return. It should be noted that the Suns were allegedly not involving Devin Booker or Eric Bledsoe in the deal, Real GM reported. Ironically all come from Kentucky.
With the three Kentucky graduates in mention, it calls to mind a DeMarcus Cousins’ dish back in November 2016. “Boogie” admitted at the time that he, Eric Bledsoe and John Wall of the Washington Wizards wanted to band together. Seeing that happen is a long shot, considering all held key roles for their respective teams – not to mention each having fat contracts. From that alone, seeing them team up in one team was pretty remote.
The Sacramento Kings are believed to be hooking up DeMarcus Cousins with a deal believed to be roughly over $200 million. Team owner Vivek Ranadive remains firm that Cousins is not going anywhere and remains the Kings franchise player. Critics have begged to differ with Sacramento failing to reach the NBA playoffs since he arrived. Aside from that, the all-star center has gone through different coaches, some of which he has had celebrated rifts with.
