On February 8, a new series premiered on FX: "Legion". "Legion" is FX and Marvel Studios' newest superhero series. It stars Dan Stevens as the main character,David Haller.

What is "Legion" all about?

The Verge described Legion as "trippy, ambitious and confounding" because it does not follow the usual "clear portrait" but troubled protagonist and instead, the story will force its audience to ask "Is any of this even real?" David Haller was also described as a hero struggling with the consequences of his actions.

Noah Hawley, creator of Fargo which was the Oscar-winning film of 1996, will bring the Marvel X-men character David Haller to FX and the result, as Deadline described, is "simply stunning". "Legion" is all about a young man, David Haller, with severe paranoid schizophrenia. Haller hears voices, hallucinates and is often bothered by his terrifying delusions.

Little might Davis know, his illness could actually be the manifestations of his mutant abilities, which allow him to move objects using his mind, hear people's thoughts, and potentially remake reality. With his abilities, he can be considered a threat to some very powerful people but since he can't control it, the audience are left wondering if anything Haller sees is real or just illusions.

David Haller is based on the Marvel comics' character of the same name who is actually the son of Professor Charles Xavier but Hawley explained that Professor X won't be appearing in the series because it will focus on Haller's life. Haller's multiple personality disorder allows him to manifest infinite sub-personalities with infinite powers that makes him one of the most powerful mutants that ever existed.

"Legion" has a lot of interesting characters. One of them is Rachel Keller who plays the character Syd Barrett is a fellow mental patient in the hospital Haller is in. Barrett suffers from haphephobia or the fear of being touched which can possibly be her mutation.
