"Jane The Virgin" fans were complete devastated over Monday's episode prompting series creator Jennie Snyder Urman to write an open letter to fans. After Micheal's shocking death in Monday's episode, Urman reveals that she has been dreading the character's death.

The fearful day has come for series creator Jennie Urman. "Jane The Virgin" fans were left in shock with Monday's episode, seeing their beloved Michael (Brett Dier) dead in the middle of his LSAT test, TVLine reported. Despite the many hints from the narrator, fans were still in shock as Michael's heart gave out due to complications from his earlier gunshot wound. It has been confirmed that Dier won't be a series regular moving forward although he will still appear in many flashbacks in the coming episodes.

In The CWs Tumbler account for the show, Jennie Urman wrote a letter to fans praising actor Brett Dier for his exceptional portrayal of Michael, Yahoo reported. His death was especially devastating after the emotional wedding between Jane and Michael. In fact, Urman revealed her favorite part of the show is the one exchanged between Michael and Jane while saying their vows. However, Michael's fate was already decided a long time ago. Urman even said that she thought Michael would have died sooner if not for the exceptional portrayal of Bret Dier of the character.

While Michael's fate was decided already, it wasn't particularly easy to do, Jennie Urman added. As if Michael's death wasn't enough, another bombshell was dropped in "Jane The Virgin" episode last Monday. Skipping three years forward, Jane is seen not wearing any ring but her four-and-a-half-year-old Mateo is getting dressed for a wedding. Now, it remains to be seen whose wedding will it be.

While the death of Michael has left many fans bereft, Urman teased that the next episode of one of the favorites they've ever done. She promised that there will be a lot of flashbacks though three years have already passed. The series will be filling in the gaps on Jane's recovery, flashing back a month after he died. Fans will get to see the characters evolve. Though she said the series will still maintain the fun and the excitement of the series.
