The Duggars Latest Update: Jessa & Ben Welcomes Son; Jill & Derick Slammed By Fans, Here's Why
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard received backlash from fans when they announced they'll be going back to El Salvador very soon. Jill is expected to give birth around July and this caused most fans to fear that she may acquire the Zika virus. In the midst of all this, Jessa and Ben welcomed their second son Monday.
Jill and Duggar returned from El Salvador in August, after a year of missionary work. Earlier this year, the couple announced that they are expecting their second child. So it was very puzzling to many fans that they could afford to return to El Salvador given the risk of contracting the Zika Virus. In fact, the couple was criticized for putting their unborn child in danger, however noble their intentions are, Hollywood Gossip reported.
Jill Duggar announced that they are planning to back to El Salvador very soon, but they will be returning for the birth of the baby. Many fans were quick to express their disapproval of their decision, pointing out that common sense would dictate not to put yourself and the child in danger. In fact, one fan pointed out that Jill nearly died in childbirth last time and this could happen again given their decision to go back to El Salvador. While their intentions are honorable, there's a great concern of contracting the Zika virus not to mention the risk of traveling in her third trimester.
Most of the fans also point out that Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard could just return to El Salvador after the baby is born and Jill's recovered. Last year, El Salvador gave an advice to women not to get pregnant until 2018 due to the mosquito-born virus that can cause brain damage to babies. There are also different types of danger found in El Salvador that no pregnant woman should encounter. Derick has mentioned the kidnapping, rape and murder that are just part of the everyday life in the area.
While this is sad news to most fans, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald welcomed their second son last Monday, CNN reported. On Wednesday, TLC released a video of the Seewalds with their new bundle of joy. The couple hasn't revealed the name of their baby yet.
