Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: New AI Assistant Patent Sends Mixed Signals For Upcoming Flagship
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to offer a lot of new features, though “Bixby” seems to be getting much of the attention as of late. For those who haven’t heard, “Bixby” is the highly-touted AI assistant accompanying the next big flagship pegged to restore order for the Korean electronics company.
There are of course a lot of other features for the Samsung Galaxy S8 to look forward to. So far, the speculated features of the Galaxy S8 include a device powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 935 or Exynos 8895 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, an S-Pen Stylus and an alleged 3,250 mAh battery (hopefully something that will not follow the issues of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery). Much of this was covered in a previous post.
With regards to the AI assistant side, Samsung has reportedly filed a trademark with the European Intellectual Property Office called Samsung Hello. According to the description of the filing, the application is something that will bring personalized features and information depending on the user which are initiated via voice command or voice recognition.
Somehow, its description seems pretty much related to “Bixby”. But the question now is whether it will be under the much-talked about AI or something separate. Could Samsung Hello be the official name for the AI service for the Samsung Galaxy S8/ S8 Edge?
Also, there is a chance that it may not be for the Samsung Galaxy S8 but for future models. There are lots of possibilities so it will be interesting what the real score is for Samsung Hello. Samsung is expected to release its next flagships by April with production starting this March. The delay will break the streak of the Korean giant, apparently due to the turn of events brought about by the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
