NBA Trade 2017 Latest News & Update: Boston Celtics Needs To Decide On Jimmy Butler Before February 23
Thanks to the recent trade that saw Serge Ibaka move to the Toronto Raptors and Terence Ross to the Orlando Magic, the Boston Celtics will need to make their own decision soon. The Celtics have been linked to Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls, something that could cost them a potential top pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The NBA trade deadline is on Feb. 23, less than a week away. Several names are expected to move, Jimmy Butler included. The Celtics could use a rising star like him though it won’t come cheap. There could be players included in the package plus a potential first-round pick that the Celtics own from the Brooklyn Nets as well as another in 2018, Chicago Tribune reported.
jimmy Butler’s name has been suggested once more in NBA trade talks and anything can happen. From the looks of it, the Celtics will have to sacrifice a lot to get the deal for the 27-year-old player. It is turning out to be a big gamble with Danny Ainge likely weighing out the pros and cons as we speak.
For the Bulls, the question is whether Jimmy Butler is on the table, Masslive.com reported. A broad look seems to hint otherwise but anything can be consummated with the right price. Butler, together with Dwyane Wade, have been critical of their younger teammates with Bulls coming out with erratic performances.
Realistically, Rajon Rondo, Nikola Mirotic, and Doug McDermott seem to be more plausible players on the move. The Bulls have expressed interest in Jahlil Okafor though nothing has prospered. Rondo’s future remains uncertain and no team has been linked to the all-star guard. For Jimmy Butler, he comes at a steep price, so much that acquiring him may not be feasible for Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics.
