Jason Momoa 2017: 'Frontier' Star Sword Training Confirms DCEU Arthur Curry Possible Weapon In 'Aquaman'

By Belle Sebastian | Update Date: Feb 17, 2017 10:27 PM EST

The DC superhero Aquaman certainly has some interesting powers that include being able to communicate with aquatic creatures and super strength, but he usually wields his trusty Trident to get a point across. But is it possible that Jason Momoa will be using a new weapon in DC Extended Universe's "Aquaman" solo film? A video has just shown the "Frontier" star undergoing sword training, which could be used by Arthur Curry in the James Wan movie.

Jason Momoa has already been seen using the Trident in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", where his character appears in a brief footage taken from under the sea (via Instagram). Aquaman is shown inspecting the underwater camera before bringing out his trademark weapon to get rid of the invader. Will Arthur Curry trade in the Trident for a sword in the highly anticipated DCEU flick? Could "Aquaman" feature the "Frontier" actor wielding a blade to eliminate his enemy Black Manta?

Evidence of Jason Momoa undergoing sword training have surfaced on social media, and it certainly looks like the new Aquaman is taking his lessons to heart. But is the former "Game of Thrones" star learning to wield a sword for the James Wan film or a different project? Some believe that Momoa might use his sword training for "Frontier", for which he has already learned to throw a tomahawk. There is hope yet that Arthur Curry will keep his Trident for "Aquaman".

It might not be time for Arthur Curry to change his weapon game just yet, but Jason Momoa fans can rest assured that the future star of "The Crow" reboot is learning several skills to further his career. The "Frontier" Season 2 air date has not yet been announced by Netflix. In the meantime, the DCEU flick "Aquaman" is scheduled for release on October 5, 2018.
