"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is at an exciting point. The last episode saw Daryl (Norman Reedus) lying to Carol. But, Reedus has an interesting take on this. Now, get to know what will happen when Carol discovers Daryl hid the truth from her.

The last episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 was titled "New Best Friends." Viewers saw how Daryl lied to Carol. Reedus added a new twist to all these by claiming that it was a "selfless act" on his character's part.

Norman Reedus' Daryl Had a Reason To Lie

Daryl did not mention to Carol that Negan had brutally killed both Abraham and Glenn when the duo had an emotional reunion. Rather, he mentioned that everyone in Alexandria was safe and alive. He also avoided the details of both Olivia and Spencer and how both of them had entered into a similar agreement with the Saviors, Metro wrote.

Reedus, 48, spoke to Entertainment Weekly and explained why he thought his character Daryl did the right thing by hiding the truth. The actor said, "Because she needs to hear that." Reedus added, "And she's losing herself, and I think Daryl realizes that."

According to the actor, his character acted selflessly at that point. He had to tell her what was needed for keeping her doing. So, Daryl did it only for her.

Daryl Wants Carol To Take It Easy

Reedus feels that everyone has their own individual path but Carol needs to be away from that. He feels that Daryl realizes that she needs something to cling to. He said, "She's been working towards it and it's been hard for her." It is obvious that Daryl cares for Carol and is unwilling to push her into something, which she will regret.

But, the million dollar question is what will happen when Carol knows that Daryl did not share the truth with her. Will she be too furious with him?

Meanwhile,  a few characters noticed something bizarre moving behind Rick in the latest episode that was aired. Will the mystery be unfolded in the upcoming episode?
