NFL Latest News & Update: DeShaun Watson Wants To Play For Dallas Cowboys
DeShaun Watson is one of the top prospects for the coming 2017 NFL Draft and most teams are likely to take notice of the quarterback. There are plenty of teams that are looking to fill that position with the Cleveland Browns getting the first crack. But will this be the team for him?
As far as DeShaun Watson is concerned he can sound off where he would want to play. And if his recent dish at the Davey O’Brien reception in Texas is any indication, the former Clemson quarterback would love to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Coach Jason Garrett would love to oblige but the Cowboys already have a problem as we speak. Most know about the celebrated Dak Prescott and Tony Romo dilemma with the latter expected to be dealt out soon.
Wild as his dish may be, DeShaun Watson has called on the Cowboys to trade Dak Prescott, NBC Sports reported. Tony Romo is likely to be cut with the former 36-year-old likely looking to be a starter. As far as a Dak Prescott trade is concerned, Watson could be pushing his luck. It would be premature to trade the 23-year-old, meaning Watson may have to eye a different team next season.
A more realistic team where he could land is the Cleveland Browns. The woeful team is coming off a sorry season and may go for a quarterback in the draft. Myles Garrett, the projected top pick stands in the way so it may depend on who coach Hue Jackson would prioritize. As most know, the NFL is heavily centered on quarterbacks, a light jab that Watson could be a Brown once the 2017 NFL Draft kicks off.
The DeShaun Watson piece is considering nothing more than a joke for the Cowboys since signing him up is close to nil, Cleveland.com reported. He could be drafted by the Browns and eventually traded up. Either way, Watson knows he won’t end up in Dallas, perhaps the only fact worth noting from this charade.
