Know Which Food Triggers Migraine And The Most Effective Treatment
Studies reveal that food can potentially trigger a migraine. There are several food additives that can potentially increase the pain, or even cause it. Most of the common triggers are often derived from GMO and processed food. Despite its triggers, there is also a cure for a migraine which health care experts deemed as highly effective.
Migraines are often triggered by various factors, thus the cure for the chronic pain often varies. One of the most common causes that are taken lightly is food and food preservatives including hot dogs, hams, sausages, bacon and other cured meats.
A study done by health care professionals based in China looked at the possibilities of using acupuncture as a migraine treatment. Though it is known as alternative medicine, it was mentioned that when administered properly and done by trained and licensed acupuncturists. The study was published in JAMA Internal Medicine wherein their goal is to come up with a treatment and a cure for a migraine.
Patients are often hesitant when it comes to having an acupuncture session, as there are countless shams that do more harm that good. Migraines are often taken lightly, but it is affecting 12 percent of the American population. Though it is often described as a chronic headache, it can last for a few hours and even a couple of days.
"Oftentimes, people doesn't realize that there's a family history of a migraine," Gelfand told CNN. "Only about half of adults in the US who have migraines have ever received a diagnosis. So plenty of people out there have it but don't necessarily recognize that is what they are experiencing. While migraine preventive medications exist, they are not necessarily effective for all patients, and can cause serious adverse effects."
Acupuncture is said to more effective that morphine when it comes to alleviating pain. Health Nut News mentioned that success rate in terms of acupuncture and chronic pain treatment significantly visible.
