A Gwynedd student nurse has become the second victim of serious injuries at a North Wales trampoline park. Ceri Jones, 21, heard a crunch after she jumped off the Tower at Chester's Flip Out.

Her vertebra exploded on impact. The trampoline park opened last December. They said they have an excellent safety record.  

Metro reported, the day before her injury another woman, Liza Jones, from North Wales, Wrexham, suffered a back fracture after jumping from a 13-feet-high platform into a foam pit. Liza is taking legal action against the owners of Chester's Flip Out, near Ellesmere Port. Liza is a cardiac nurse at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Ceri Jones said she was with some fellow student nurses from Liverpool's John Moores University when the accident happened. They had been at Flip Out on January 25. Depending on her recovery from her injuries, her dreams of a career in nursing may be over.

After she heard the crunch, she said she couldn't move and was in agony. She sat for 15 minutes before she was carried out. The ambulance took 2 hours to arrive and the first aiders said "she will be fine."

She is now being cared for by her parents at their home in Beddgelert. She cannot even stand up to brush her teeth now because of the pain. She has to be assisted by two people when taking a bath.

According to the Daily Post, Ceri is under the care of a specialist at Walton Hospital in Liverpool. She wears a back brace to stop the shards of bone from her broken vertebra slipping into her spinal fluid, which could potentially paralyze her.

In a few weeks she will find out if an operation would be necessary on her back. "I have a nursing job lined up at Aintree University Hospital in the emergency department. I'm supposed to start in September but I don't know whether I will be able to do it now," she said.

Miss Jones says she is now intending to take legal action against the company.
