The United States is under a viral flu influenza with affects older adults. The virus is currently moving towards the eastern side of the US, thus health care providers are currently coming up with a solution to keep the growing problem eliminated or at least keep it at bay.

CNN reports that the flu activity in some areas of the US is starting to decline, but it was mentioned that areas in the eastern part of the country remain high. A report generated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pointed out that the widespread is still ongoing as the flu virus shifts towards the east.

Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Washington, Hawaii, Utah, and the District of Columbia are said to be the most affected by the virus. There's been a widespread of illnesses in these states, according to a case report.

"The center of the country and over toward the east is being hit harder right now, for sure," Lynnette Brammer, an epidemiologist in the influenza division of the National Center for Immunization & Respiratory Diseases at the CDC stated. Not to say they couldn't have a second peak, but they look like they're a little farther along in their outbreak than the rest of the country."

The flu is continually taking its toll as most of the patients would end up hospitalized. As of this date, around 9,400 individuals have been confined due to flu-related illnesses, which is said to be unusual. It was then added that most of the patients are older adults ages around 50 to 65.

Brammer that the group that was hit the most with the flu are seniors over 65. The second group on the other hand, where children, mostly babies and toddlers ages zero to four. With the flu that's getting much worse, Brammer stated that 34 children have already died due to the flu, wherein she advised parents to be keen when it comes to observing their children and sought medical attention if signs and symptoms would surface.
