LG G6 Latest News & Update: Jackrabbit Start By LG Adds More Pressure For Samsung Flagships

LG Electronics has officially lifted the covers on the LG G6, a new smartphone pegged to fill up the void of an absent Samsung flagship phone. With Samsung opting for the conservative approach, the company has purposely delayed the revelation of its expected Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus for April with the reveal set for March.

LG continues to build on its brand and try to move up in the market segment. The LG G6 has its work cut out for itself as it also tries to make up for a lackluster LG G5, CNet reported. To do that, LG has come up with an interesting new device sporting a large display and nearly bezel-less design armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset.

Other notable features of the LG G6 include 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage (expandable through microSD up to 2 TB), a 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, a 3,300 mAh non-removable battery, and IP68 rating, Android Authority reported.

It remains to be seen if these features would be enough to help the LG G6 get past the Samsung Galaxy S8, at least for now. Most are reserving their takes for next month once they get to see the official new features of the upcoming flagship. So far, the LG G6 has been impressive and in fact, costs less. So from that angle alone, how can the LG G6 lose its lead from Samsung?

All that could boil down to the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S8 over the LG G6. It is believed that it will come out with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, an AI assistant called “Bixby” and a curved screen. There is the expected advanced biometric features (i.e. Iris scanner, fingerprint scanner) roaming around and even a feature that could transform it into a mobile desktop.
